Challenge:
Create a refreshing logo that is bold, unique and creative enough to fully distinguish from the crowd. It also had to be an attention grabber, loved by current readers and welcoming to new readers.  A unique and visually appealing logo mark was the end result.

Solution:
Since the blog contains the perfect mix of her favorite things. I felt it important really highlight those things with the use of a symbol. Of course photography had to be present, but the challenge was combining two separate objects that would work together as one fluid shape. After a series of thumbnail sketches and swapping out different ideas, the second object used was the bacon strip. When combined, they each form a heart bringing the literal content of the blog, into one universal shape and recognizable symbol for Food Love Tog. It really works out because upon researching and discussion, it was revealed that Candace loves bacon just as much as she loves photography.

For the wordmark, It was important to use  a typeface that worked well as header and stacked just as well. The first combinations with the symbol were very serious and straight forward sans serifs, but those didn’t work for some obvious reasons. One being that they just didn’t fit the personality of the owner. With that said, the typeface you see above was chosen.
